Isoke sisters are working on creating more jewelry for Metanoia Jubilee. On December 2, 2o11 come to North Charleston Convention Center to suppport the Isoke sisters, and also watch the children perform.

Every year Metanoia has a program called Jubilee, this is where the children participate, and the children celebrate and show their accomplishments over the year. Jubilee is also Metanoia annual fund raiser. Isoke sisters will be at Jubilee selling jewelry. We will appreciate if you will come out to Jubilee and come support the Isoke sisters. Jubilee will be December 2, 2011. This event will be held at the North Charleston Convention Center.

"Our experience at Jubilee was great. We had a good turn out and even better compliments. Now, we are working on some of our upcoming events like Metanoia's Mother's Day and Teacher's Appreciation Tea. Since it is a new year the Isoke Sisters are looking to expand our demographic, by trying different styles, techniques, and beads. The Isoke sisters’ founder, Rev. Evelyn Oliveira, was inspired by the Delta Jewels from Helena, Arkansas. She found that the girls used jewelry making as a form to earn money, while discussing life, issues, etc with a mentor. Rev. Evelyn has always loved making jewelry and thought it would be nice for the girls at Metanoia, ranging from middle to high school, to do as a project. The young girls loved the idea. Their name Isoke sisters was formed, meaning “gifted sisters.” The business was born out of a Bible study program called “Daughters of Imani.” The Isoke consists of the six following sisters: Dashia, Shatika, Ambur, Desiree, Arnay, and Rashawnna. Since the fall of 2009, the girls’ jewelry making ability has broadened as well as their understanding of marketing. Many of the Isoke sisters expressed the jewelry making business as a form of expressing themselves. These wonderfully gifted sisters enjoy the time they spend making jewelry and bond more day by day. However, the group can only continue with the help of their community and customers. The Isoke sisters would really appreciate your help and support! If you are interested in supporting these young women to continue their project, please consider in purchasing some of their fine hand-made jewelry.
